The garden was in extremely poor condition through the absence of any maintenance and horticultural input with the result that it was dominated by weeds and overgrowth plants. During discussions concerning the works to the garden Garry expressed a vision for the garden and due to his clear-sighted outlook has from the beginning until now transformed the garden into a place that has great aesthetic harmony and has achieved a sustainable outcome. The work has entailed new and major structural works to the landscaping of the property. This has included construction of paths, drainage, rockwork, steps and reclamation of rock and cliff faces. As well, he has installed timber handrails that he personally hand-turned.
